Valedictory
By • 5/26/10I regret to tell those of you who have gotten something out of this website that I am discontinuing it. Although I have worked obsessively on issues of race for the past eight years, I have always, of course, had other interests. While I managed to keep these in the background, in the past few months, they have been breaking out and forcing their way into the spotlight. As a result, I can no longer find satisfaction in maintaining a website devoted exclusively to race.
I hope readers who are enthusiastic about the issues I have raised here will go on fighting for them. However, also try to remember that, no matter how urgent a political perspective may seem, all perspectives are limited and there is more to life than politics. Sometimes getting outside your customary perspective and patterns of behavior leads you to discover veins of enormous richness in yourself that you had never known were there. Such has certainly been my experience.
I will not stop writing. I may set up another blog, but if I do, it will have a very different focus than this one and will probably be run anonymously.
I will keep this website intact forever, I believe, as there is much on it that, I expect, will remain of interest to many.
I must apologize to people who have made comments over the past couple of months, as I have neglected them and only got around to moderating them today. I will close the comments on this site in a week or so.
Good bye then! I have enjoyed knowing you and participating in the community that grew up around this site. I will always look back on the three years when I ran The Inverted World, as this site was previously named, and White America with great warmth and pride.

I knew you were going to say this, I just didn’t know when. I have deep and profound attachment to my people, presumably you do too, so what is the problem? Of course we have other interest, in fact, lets say you and I had NO interest in racial issues, we’re just self-serving kind of guys, we have no group commitment at all, etc. Now, where would you and I go to indulge our self-interest in America? Harlem Chinatown, Compton, or the white parts of a city? I think you understand…
To me, white nationalism is about self-interest, I don’t know to many white people who enjoy being around non-whites, despite what the propaganda tells them to the contrary. When you say “try to remember that, no matter how urgent a political perspective may seem, all perspectives are limited and there is more to life than politics.” This is an individual choice, for some people the satisfaction of engaging in political battles is breath taking. They see it as dedication, rather than an obsession.
Dr. Jobling, thanks for your service to our race and to the truth. I hope you come back to this topic eventually.
I think you’ve made the correct decision to leave the “WN” scene, Dr. Jobling. There isn’t anything meaning happening at the present time anyway. For the most part it is comprised with a bunch of bickering pseudo-intellectuals trying to impress one another. I call it redundant idiocy.
I’m certain there will come a time when whites will gain or regain their ethnocentric conscious. When that time comes, the easy online racialists who fashion themselves as leaders will be swept aside.
When we start to hear people in positions of power advocating for the interests of white people, then we’ll know their is a sea-change. When mainstream politicians within the two major parties incorporate white civil rights as a plank in their platform; when politicians see the advantage of appealing to the white masses as a winning strategy, then we will know we are on the road to recovery. Wishful thinking? Maybe, maybe not. We shall see.
Anyway, thanks for your time and effort. Many including myself have found your work edifying.

Thanks to all my well-wishers, I’m gratified that you got something out of White America. Your words will give me courage going forward.
To the others, I didn’t say in my remarks above that I had rejected white nationalism or that it was a useless or pernicious political position. If white nationalism inspires you, I think you should go on promoting it. And I think you must admit that I’ve done a lot of fighting, enough to make the accusation of cowardice fall flat.
Writers don’t choose their subjects. Their subjects choose them. After a number of years of feeling myself compelled to write about race, I now feel compelled to write about very different matters. If I went on writing about race, I would become a ghost of my former self, constantly trying to fake the passion that originally inspired me. And that’s really all I can say.
All the best with your future endeavours Dr Jobling. I came across your Inverted World site a couple of years ago and enjoyed the exceptionally well written articles. I think you added real intellectual heft and rigour to those pondering issues about race. I’m therefore glad to read that you will be keeping the site intact.
I was also pleased to see you enter the fray at new sites like ‘Liberal Biorealism’. I hope that you may someday return to write about these issues.
I don’t think you’re a coward, I think you’re smart so I would rather not see you depart. Also, you tackle a lot of issues that I’m interesting in. For example, I love to follow the evolution/creation “debate”, some white nationalist are total morons who reject modern evolutionary synthesis, so I enjoyed that you wrote about it after Auster viciously attacked it. Modern evolutionary theory isn’t exclusively about race, but I still read about HIV replication regardless, etc…
Not everything in life is about race, but always remember that talk about race is very common in the real world, I’ve never been hated for my positions in the real world, it’s only our contemporary (temporary?) elites that are afraid of white interest. They are the true racist, in fact, they obsess over race, whether it is bolstering “minority” status are putting whites on a guilt trip, racial issues are an explicit part of leftist culture in America. You notice that they lambaste social conservatives on racial issues? As you know, mainstream conservatives avoid racial topics, they can’t even appeal to whites implicitly anymore, but yet they are called “racist” by the far-left. The latter skillfully plays the race card, whereas the former avoids that the “R” word at every turn. In short, your race realist spin on issues was hardly out of the ordinary, considering what we are up against. So keep it up…
